TWWs 9th February 2021

On a very cold and blustery day, we abandoned the planned walk from Postbridge, and “stayed local” (on account of the Covid-19 lockdown).  As there was no firing on Wilsworthy range, we took the opportunity to head out to Reddaford Farm.  From the Brentor Road, via the lane past the Morland Hall, out onto the moor.  Around the foot of Gibbet Hill and along the old mine leat till it crosses the A386.  A north-east track took us in the direction of the Wilsworthy Ice Cream kiosk (observation post).  A quick dogleg down the track towards Yellowmead Farm, then onwards to the point where the mine leat crosses Wilsworth Brook, and our objective (Reddaford Farm).  The option to fight through the gorse on the east side of the leat was a prickly bad decision. Too cold to spend much time investigating the ruin. We retraced our steps back towards Yellowmead, then across to Wheal Jewel reservoir, Cholwell  Brook, and home.  Some lovely ice formations along the leat, but too cold to faff around with the camera (I left that to Jane J)
