that it is November
but
even some of the Whitty boys
turned up at Bellever
to head over Riddon Ridge
across the stepping stones
to Laughter
and on to Bellever Tor
and
then to the empty East Dart
where we were made
very welcome
perhaps over welcome
by the bear
