Well as the scribe would have said, “It’s proper Dartmoor weather”. Having battled our way through the rain and lakes where there should have been roads we set off up the Raddick Road “River” for the moor!
Out via Crazywell Pool to Cramber Tor and then back to the leat to descend the waterfall for a quick tea break, we then followed the leat which had burst its banks in many places. Down to Lether Tor Bridge where the river was roaring under the bridge and back to the cars. After a short discussion The Royal Oak was agreed as our next stop. We arrived having driven down the river into the village with water rushing past the front door where all was quiet, the “Morris” were there but no music! We were advised that the Meavy road was flooded so the return home required another trip through Dousland.
