WW 7th March 2018

It had to be done, going on a snow hunt, and we succeeded. Out from Lowery Cross as the rain came down. To explore the lanes that were blocked, blocked, blocked less than a week ago. Down to follow the bells but the diggers had been through. So, out and along by Gypsy Rock where the drifts remained and they were really deep. Round to the railway to pop out on the moor. Up to the Dew Pond where no ice remained. Round what is left of the forest to Stenlake for a cuppa. And then, as always on a Wednesday evening, the stars popped out. For us to make our way by the leat back to the cars and on to the reliable Rock.

You really do have to be there ...
