WW 25th April 2018
Well it certainly is a big hole and no wonder - a giant waterwheel 2.7m wide and 6.9m in diameter.
Setting out from Ephraim's Pinch - poor Ephraim whichever story you read. On a a very cool evening with clouds scudding over. Round the edge of Soussons to hear the cuckoo calling and wondering if it would soon choose to head back to Africa. Round by the waterwheel pit with deer dancing away and on to Golden Dagger Mine and buddle. Back to Dinah's for a nice warming cuppa. Into the diminishing woods to find all four tumuli at the top. And down, with the odd spot of cooling rain hurrying us, by the rebuilt stone circle to the cars. To settle into the Chesterfields for a nice pint.
