Firstly it was nice to welcome our Swedish member, down for a brief visit, we haven’t seen him for some time.
Setting off on a beautiful clear and sunny evening the walk was to be about looking for hares. And there they were - lying down, sitting up in there classic pose, some running away (they can apparently reach speeds of 45mph, the fastest land based mammal in the UK.) So that was a great success- thanks to Dianne for the tip.
Off to Pew Tor next for a cuppa in the lee of the rocks, with wonderful light and views all round. On to Heckwood Tor, then back to Windy Post, Barn Hill and the cars.
The Witty was welcoming for a quiet chat until the boys in red turned up.
A short but delightful walk.
Mike.
