WW 1st May 2019

A lovely sunny evening to be out for a short stroll. With most "Up North" there were only likely to be two of us, but, there in the carpark, two more waited. Serious stuff !! Proper walk and less pub required. Much chuckling.
With the still warm sun on our backs we headed east and on to the track by Sunnyside. Down towards the Blackabrook , past the cement rendered  bridge of unknown origins , and on to the boggyish footpath avoiding the slaty blue bog violets. With Prince Hall ahead we turned right over the steel stepped stile and up the lower slopes of Royal Hill. Cuppa was had in the last of the sun's rays before heading up to Crock of Gold. Another cist was admired enroute and soon we were marching along Conchies Road , through Bull Park and along the wide leat with sheep " leap " structures and heavy flapping herons. Up left through the gate, assistance given to reunite leat separated lamb and its mum and then towards the bright lights of Princetown.
A quiet newly smartened Prince of Wales awaited and talk turned to elections, politics and the "B" word !

You really do have to be there ...
